If there is one car that stole the show it was this one. Brought in by Lamborghini Boston I had the pleasure of fielding a lot of questions about it. Mostly they were, how much and who bought it. One question I could answer. I’m still amazed at how people gasp when the door is popped and floats upward and out. Many references to Batman were made and some new references to Speed Racer, but everyone agreed that it was one menacing car in the flat black paint that seemed to absorb anything around it.
It was flanked by some legendary cars. A bi-colore 550-2. A 560-4 Spyder. To its right stood a row of Bentleys, ending in an exemplary pin-striped Mulsanne. Lastly a row of Rolls-Royce starting with the new long wheelbase Ghost, a Phantom Sedan, and lastly the probably most expensive car at the show, a Phantom Drop Head Coupe. Apparently price was no object as the Drop Head made hardly a dent to the crowd around it’s $70,000 cheaper stable mate.
I want to thank Bentley Boston, Rolls-Royce Motorcars of New England, and Lamborghini Boston for once again calling on me to be a presenter and I hope to do it again next year as we’re in talks to have an even more impressive display.
